1.6Tbps DR8 Tx PIC Application Notes
This product is a silicon integrated photonic chip with eight channel 106Gbaud modulators. It is designed for datacenter applications,supporting 8x200Gbps data transmission over parallel single mode fbers for up to 500m reach.
8 channels high speed silicon modulator are integrated. The recommended usage for dsp direct drive is shown in Fig.4. For DC couple, Vcom will be decided by DSP/Driver common mode voltage(Vcm), and the reverse PN voltage(Vpn,r) on MZM PN junction is Vpn,r= Vcm-Vbias =Vcom-(Icm*Zt,dif/4)-Vbias. For AC couple, Vcom will be freely decided by MZM perormance, and the reverse PN voltage(Vpn,r) on MZM PN junction is Vpn,r=Vcom as Vbias is connected directly to GND.
